Our research focuses on both interventional and conservative angiology.

Research projects

Ongoing research projects are conducted in the following areas:

PAD and critical limb ischemia
Endovascular recanalization (of arterial and venous circulation)
Venous thromboembolism and hemostaseology
Preventive angiology – including biomarker research for high-risk patients
Vasculitis – including biomarker research
Clinical endothelium research and microcirculation
COVID-19-associated vasculopathy

Clinical trials

In addition to these research projects, a large number of clinical examinations embedded in large international multicenter trials are carried out. The division has tested a variety of new interventional devices as part of first-in-man studies.
